Thanks to all!

March 29th, 2009

A great event, indeed!

Saturday’s breakfast started out a little shaky as the Holiday Inn had us down for the wrong date. Doh! No problem, though, as they put us in the pub area and I think that worked out even better. Hopefully we can do it there any other time we have an event.

Though a few people had left by the end, here’s the group photo:

Keep an eye out for the next breakfast as we are going to try and make this a regular thing.

Also, May 2, we’ll be having a Geocaching 101 event at Glimmerglass State Park. I’m waiting for final details and then I will post it to geocaching.com.

Our bigger event — The Hall of Fame Picnic — will also be at Glimmerglass on July 25.

Finally, I’m working on a page that will have an “Events Calendar” for anyone looking to hit up events within an hour or two driving. Always gives you a chance to cache in new places!

Again, thanks to all who attended — new faces and old. It was a blast as always!

March 28 event

March 17th, 2009

Hi all!

We’re having an event March 28 called “Spring Break?”

The event will be held at the same spot as last time — Our Town Café inside The Holiday Inn on Oneonta’s Southside.

This is a general meet-and-greet, with (a very good) breakfast available to be purchased. You can swap stories, travel bugs and then hopefully go out for a good day of caching! There are some new ones in the area to go find if you haven’t been here in a while and hopefully a couple more placed before the event!

The GC number for the event is:  GC1NH05. Click on the event number link to see the page at geocaching.com.

Hope to see you all there!

How often?

March 2nd, 2009

Just wondering how often people stop by this site?

Also, what can we do to make it a better spot to come more often.

If you check by and have ideas, please post a comment on this post. Note that all the posts on the main site are interactive, much like the forum, but just for this entry (or another one etc.).

Some updates

February 26th, 2009

If you happened across here when I first did the site different yesterday, then there’s some new thing.

I’ve added a cache page, where you can click a link that will take you to the geocaching.com page for the caches in that certain area (all within a 10-mile radius of the town).

Also, I put a page for the Hall of Fame Picnic. This is our yearly signature event and I’m hoping that page will grow as the event gets closer and we come up with new things!

I do need to figure out how to make it so the forum connects directly to the top tab, rather than having it take you to a page where you can click to go to the forum.

Some other items I’m looking into:

  • A chat room
  • Polls

Remember, too, on any of these posts out here, you can leave a comment if you wish!

Cache on!

A new look!

February 24th, 2009

If you are stopping back at Stuck in the Middle Cachers for the first time in a while, you’ll notice a change.

I’ve made a main page for the site, instead of just having the forum out here. The idea is that we can post items of interest here. There’s a link to the forum at the top of the page, so head over there when you want to post.

We’ll have updates here for new caches, events and anything else in our area related to geocaching.

Check back often!
